OBITUARY

Georgia Marguerite (Hadley) Bergfalk

November 13, 1936 – January 10, 2026
Obituary of Georgia Marguerite (Hadley) Bergfalk
IN THE CARE OF

Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home

Georgia Marguerite Bergfalk (née Hadley) passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 89.

Georgia most recently resided in Champlin, Minnesota. An accomplished pianist from a young age, she continued her musical studies in college, adding organ to her repertoire. She met her future husband, Roger, while they were in high school, and their relationship blossomed as they attended weekly Christian Endeavor rallies in the greater Los Angeles area.

After graduating from high school, Roger and Georgia were married on December 16, 1955. They continued their education at California State University, Los Angeles—Roger studying speech communication, and Georgia studying nutrition and music.

Following Roger’s completion of a theology degree at Fuller Seminary, the young family moved to Loveland, Colorado. During these years, Georgia devoted herself to caring for their children and serving faithfully as pianist and organist.

From Loveland, the family moved to Westminster, Massachusetts, and eighteen months later to Worcester. Georgia became highly adept at guiding her family through each transition. Her organizational skills, hospitality, and musical gifts made her a steady and invaluable support to Roger’s ministry. After the children left for college, Georgia was often found standing by the telephone with her Bible open, offering counsel and encouragement to women across their ministry communities.

Their ministry journey continued with service in Cokato, Minnesota, and Evanston, Illinois. Throughout the years, Georgia remained deeply involved in music ministry—accompanying special music, playing the organ, teaching piano lessons, and making her beloved cardamom bread men, first for and later with her grandchildren. Their coast-to-coast ministry fostered lifelong friendships, many of which were renewed during annual summer trips to the Baptist General Conference meetings.

After retiring from Evanston, Georgia and Roger moved to Ramsey, Minnesota, to be closer to their growing number of grandchildren. While they occasionally served in interim ministry roles, they most cherished time spent attending soccer games, playing with their grandchildren, and traveling to California to visit family and their “California kid” grandson.

In later years, Georgia lovingly cared for Roger as dementia gradually dimmed his once-vast memory of sermons and vocal solos. When the time came to leave their home and move to an apartment, Georgia’s health declined, and she was peacefully called home—her life of faith and service complete.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Marguerite Hadley; her siblings, Luther Hadley Jr., Chester Hadley, and Paul Hadley; and her granddaughter, Rosalyn Bergfalk.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Roger Bergfalk; her daughter, Alicia (Jeff) Steinhaus; her son, Ross (Carrie) Bergfalk; her grandchildren, Luke (Eden) Steinhaus, Lyla Steinhaus, Alexander Steinhaus, Richard (Tara) Bergfalk, Rhys Bergfalk, Rory Bergfalk, Rev. Robert (Kelsey) Bergfalk, Ronan Bergfalk, Adelynn Bergfalk, Anna (Hans) Ashmun, Oliver Ashmun, Natalie (Nicholas) Martensen, Riley Bergfalk, and Isabella Bergfalk (Emmett Filetti); and many other family members and dear friends.
