Jim dedicated more than 30 years of his life to Sunshine Biscuits, where he built lasting friendships and a strong work ethic. Outside of work, his greatest joy was being outdoors and camping. Northern Minnesota was his favorite place, whether he was fishing on quiet lakes while listening to the call of loons, standing along the North Shore taking in the waves and rugged shoreline, or simply enjoying the wilderness around him. Those moments brought him peace and happiness.
Above all, Jim cherished his family. He loved simply being around his children and grandchildren sharing everyday moments, cheering together at Twins games, or watching them play sports. A devoted fan of all Minnesota teams, Jim rarely missed a chance to enjoy the excitement of Minnesota sports, especially when he could experience it with the people he loved most.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carolynn; his children, Craig (Linda) Sweno, Scott (Jeania) Sweno, Shari (Jeff) Sparks, and Chad (Robin) Sweno; his grandchildren, Derek (Sarah), Samantha, Josh, Jonathan (Mallory), Jack, and Rachel; and his great-grandchild, Wesley.
A private celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
