We were so sorry to hear about Joan. We were across the street neighbors for 50 years. It will be strange not to see her outside gardening, or on her lawn mower. She was an extraordinary woman. Her energy and attitude was an inspiration. If only we all could live life with the same enthusiasm. Love to the entire family at this difficult time.

I am sorry I us unable to be with you all to share in your grief. Aunt Huntz was a special lady. As I grew up she grew up with us. We had so much fun at Grandmas dance parties. She truly will be missed by all her nieces and nephews.

How lucky were her children, grandchildren and "the greats", to have been blessed with Joan as their very own.
Thanks to Peggy, Karen and Jacquie for letting me know that wonderful cook and baker, I know I will always treasure my beautiful doilies, made lovingly by her "never idle" hands and my rhubarb plants shared from her personal garden.
Sending sympathy and prayers to all her loved ones, for their great loss.

Rest in peace dear Joan,

We moved to (Anoka)Oak Grove in 1988. Soon, we were graced with meeting The Remarkable "JOAN". We'd buy her delicious fresh corn(The Very Best):-) I'd spend many times with her, we'd visit for hours, talking about her Sons & Grandchildren. She'd tell me stories of her days of hunts at the cabin & bowling. She had many trophies!! Some summers, I helped her plant flowers & in the fall, I'd sometimes, help her with her harvesting her marigold seeds, then, we'd go to her favorite restaurant, "The Country Buffet". 1999, my husband's job moved us. But, whenever, we were in town, I'd stop & see "Joan" or call her from the various States that Rob's Airline job moved us to. She loved it when I'd call from Singapore or Hong Kong. She was so very special! I often tell friends of The Remarkable Joan & how she was caring for her husband when he developed Alzheimer's. She cared for him at home & when the tasks became difficult, she put on a nurse's cap & would come to him & say " Mr. Herman, I'm your nurse & I'm here to care for you today"...he would smile & do whatever "Nurse J" would tell him :-))
Every time I plant & harvest my marigolds, I smile & remember "JOAN" and I always thank The Good Lord that HE brought her into my life. She will be missed. We thank her for the many beautiful smiles she gave us all...

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was such a beautiful and loving person and was so very special. We shared so many fun times, bowling and snowmobiling and those times will never be forgotten. She will always be dear to my heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers always.
