Age 69, of Andover, died peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2012. She was born the daughter of George and Catherine Gilch on March 5, 1943 in Camden, NJ. Kathleen loved the Lord and her family – especially her four granddaughters. She enjoyed gardening & sewing and was very active in her church as nursery director and teaching the “sparkies” in AWANA for many years.
After being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, she was allowed to remain with us for 3 years & 8 months. She had granddaughters on the way and other goals to meet before the Lord called her home. We do not mourn her, but celebrate her journey into eternity with Jesus. When she met the Lord, face to face, her beautiful smile was back and she could walk and see again. Jesus smiled in return as He opened His book and said, “Kathleen, you’re right on time.”
She will remain in the hearts of her husband Elroy; daughter, Deb (Mark) Ackermann; sons, Jon (Tonia), Christopher (Jayme) & Scott; granddaughters: Hayley, Riley, Taylor & Khloe; sisters: Maureen Gilch, Alice Legander, Helen Taylor, Christine Gilch & Barbara (Ed) Gibbs; brothers, George (Lorraine) & Joe (Linda) Gilch; many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jimmy.
A Funeral Service will be held for Kathleen at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 18 at Pathways Community Church, 6341 167th Ave NW, Ramsey. Pastor David Wicklund will officiate. Private interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery of Anoka. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at church and on Monday, September 17, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Gearhart Funeral Home, 552 East River Rd, Anoka, 763-421-4347, www.gearhartanokachapel.com
