Mary Evangeline Stam

Mary was born on May 12, 1934, to Hazel (Mangrum) Smith and Edward Smith in Memphis, TN, and grew up near Flint, MI. She served in the Regular Air Force as Airman 3rd Class at Selfridge AFB, MI. She married Daniel Lee Stam in 1965. Mary graduated summa cum laude from Anoka Ramsey Community College, earning the degree of Associate of Arts. Mary was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed her family and raising cats and dogs. She especially enjoyed reading, playing games, listening to all types of music, landscaping and gardening.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel, and her sister, Mildred Stanton.

She is survived by her children Pamela (Larry) Larsen, Cheri (Gerald) Hanson, and Jon (Marcia) Stam and grandchildren David and Katherine Larsen, Taylor (Jacob) Ellefson, and Brenna Stam. Mary will be greatly missed.

She will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. In lieu of a service, there will be a private family gathering to honor her and the life she lived. Cards may be sent to the Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home - 552 East River Road Anoka, MN 55303.
