July 14, 1985 – July 20, 2025
Megan Margaret Austin, age 40, passed away on July 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 14, 1985, Megan brought light, warmth, and compassion into the lives of everyone she met.
She was the proud and devoted mother of her son, Jaxon, who was the center of her world. Megan was the beloved daughter of Mary and her late father Glenn, and a cherished sister to Katie, Eric, and Matt. Megan, or Auntie Bacon as she was lovingly referred to, brought love and laughter to her nieces Taylor, Danielle, Aubrey, Claire, Drea and her nephews Trace and Cale. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Megan graduated from Anoka High School and went on to earn her degree from St. Cloud State University. She dedicated her life to special education in the schools and vulnerable adults in a group home setting, where her kindness, patience, and unwavering support touched the lives of countless students and families. Megan grew up surrounded by caring for others as was always modeled by her mom and spent her life in this pursuit with her genuine heart and unique sparkle.
Megan will be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless heart, and the deep love she had for those around her. She found joy in life’s simple beauties — the wonder in nature and the world around us, love of animals, and especially roses. Her legacy of enthusiasm, unforgettable laughter, and unique individuality will carry on.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Megan will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Prayer Service and Memory Sharing at 4:00 PM, all at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home – 552 East River Road, Anoka, MN. The event will be extremely casual, as was the style of our beloved Megan.
