Mitchell Lee Olson

Mitchell L. Olson, age 34, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, in Coon Rapids, MN. He graduated from Hopkins High School and held an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from North Hennepin Community College. He served in the National Guard and was deployed to Iraq in 2009-2010. He was happiest working outdoors, especially as a semi driver. Being a patriot and cheerleader for the country he loved, he was passionate about politics and serving other veterans experiencing trauma and injury. Mitch thrived in the outdoors – farming, hunting, fishing, NASCAR and being with his beloved hunting dogs. Mitch was preceded in death by grandparents, Gene & Luella Olson and LeRoy & Vera Buller, Aunt Barbara Seaman and Cousin Sarah Buller. He is survived by his loving wife, Megan, son Hunter, stepdaughters Danica and Taylor Rustad, parents Gene & Sylvia Olson, sisters Casey Olson and Kristina (Michael) Nagle, niece Lily Nagle and an abundance of cousins, aunts, uncles, fellow veterans and friends. In light of concerns about the spread of COVID-19, the interment will be private. A Celebration of Mitchell’s life will occur at a later date.
