Robert Francis Gatten

Age 84, of Spring Lake Park, died on Friday, Sept 14, 2012 at Unity Hospital in Fridley. He was born the son of Gloyd T. & Evangeline R. (Frances) Gatten on January 25, 1928 in Minneapolis. He proudly served in the US Army Air Force. Bob married Muriel E. Vasseur on March 2, 1954; they were the first couple married in Spring Lake Park. They were blessed with six children. Bob had many careers throughout his life, but primarily he worked as a commercial driver. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Muriel; his children: Janelle (Tim) Kletzin, Debi (Craig) Johnson, Paul Gatten, Pam Gatten, Gary Gatten, and Bruce Gatten; six grandchildren: Jeremy (Nicole) Kletzin, Andrea (Jeff) Howard, Brad (Nikki) Kletzin, Brianna Keisling, Erik Johnson, and Heather Gatten; four great-grandchildren: Mara & Macy Howard, Oliver Kletzin, and Colton Kletzin; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Sylvia and June. A Funeral Service will be held for Bob at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Sept 19 at the Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home, 552 East River Road, Anoka. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday and on Tuesday, Sept 18, from 5 until 7 PM, all at the funeral home. Interment at Ft. Snelling. Memorials preferred to the family for later designation.
