My brother Robert "Bob" Nugent was a wonderful brother. I was born in 1943 so he was 13 at the time. Both parents worked and it fell to Bob to help get my sister and I off to school. Making sure we took what we needed to go to school. He also got our breakfast for us. In the cold MN winters, he'd make Cream of Wheat or Oatmeal.
I mentioned that to him recently and he didn't even remember. But, he has always liked children and didn't mind helping out. Although at times he could be rather gruff about it.
I miss him and am so glad he has had a wonderful life with Lil, Patrick, Dawn, their children Crystal and Cain. The picture is me, Marge Marah, and Bob.
