Born on September 15, 1951, in Little Falls, MN, Rosann was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (née Hoheisel) Maurer. She graduated from Healy Senior High in 1969 and earned her degree in teaching from St. Cloud State University in 1973. Rosann spent 27 years teaching special needs students and adults in the Anoka-Hennepin School District ISD #11.
Rosann married her high school sweetheart, David Tschida, in 1976. Together they raised two daughters and enjoyed a full life of travel and love and a shared appreciation for Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison. Rosann was an avid reader, a world traveler, and loved to win at Scrabble and Rummikub.
She is survived by her husband, David; her children, Jenna Blakeborough (Kyle) of Eagan, MN, and Bethaney Costello (Adam) of Fridley, MN; her grandchildren Elizabeth and Nora; her siblings Nancy Ameirault (late Mark) of Dayton, MN, Tom Maurer (MaryAnn) of Brooklyn, Dick Maurer (Carol) of Pierz, MN, Peggy Toonen (Rich) of Columbus, MN, Ann Sauter (Pat) of Savage, MN, and Lynn Waytashek (Glen) of Le Sueur, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Rosann’s humor, kindness and warmth touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family, many friends, and all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, located at 525 Jackson St, Anoka, MN, 55303, on January 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:00 am on January 8, 2026.
