Barbara Viola Small

Barbara Viola Small (Mom, Granny, Great-granny and Great-great granny) passed away peacefully at 96 (and a half!) years old and was the last living survivor in her family. She was a lover of jigsaw puzzles, Bingo, Pokeno, puzzle books, and Family Feud. Her children and grandchildren all held a special place in her heart.

When Barbara was young, she was a baby-sitter, and a roller-skating carhop in Troy, Ohio, her hometown. In Troy she was a member of Nu Phi Mu Sorority---little sisters of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority---and performed in the high school operetta in May 1943. During the summers in her high school years, she was a record keeper at the local horse racetrack. Later she was employed by Hobart KitchenAid Factory as a record-keeper of back-orders. Later in life she was a homemaker, 4-H leader, once again a babysitter and later retired from Piezo Technology. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and at 96 started painting pictures.

Barbara was married to John (Bill) (deceased) for 60 years. They are both survived by their children; Mona(Wayne), Cindy(Joe), Mike, and Raymond. Children include Danny and Kathy, both deceased. Grandchildren include Jason, Faedra, Sara, Justine, Kevin, Keith, and Craig (deceased), 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
