

He was born on July 3, 1943, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to the late Carroll Walter “Mac” McPherson Sr and Wanda Alsip McPherson; both who predeceased him. He had lived in Florida most of his life; leaving Maryland as a young boy with his family to head to Virginia before making their way to Florida. He met the love of his life when they were working at Steak 'n Shake and in December of 1964 they were married. He worked various businesses over the years before he started working for Florida Hospital (now Advent Health). He was also in the Navy as a Navy Seabee and served two tours. He was a member of Kress Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Winter Park, FL., where he had been a deacon and an Elder for many years.
Carroll was predeceased by his wife of almost 45 years, Donnie Lee Hodges McPherson; his parents; a sister, Mrs. Sheryl Stout of Temple, Texas; brothers-in-law, David Hodges of Starke, FL, Robert Brinkmann of Colorado Springs, CO, Warren Hodges of Lake Butler, FL, Arthur Johnson of Tampa, FL, and several other brothers-in-law; several sisters-in-law, several uncles and aunts; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Lynn McPherson Grohol and Joseph Benjamin Grohol Jr., of Ulster, PA; four sisters, Carolyn McPherson Brinkman of Colorado Springs, CO, Brenda McPherson Daley of Georgia, Connie McPherson Miller of Grand Prairie, TX and Patricia McPherson Johnson of Tampa, FL; a brother, Douglas McPherson of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Apopka, Florida. Memorial service with military honors will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park at a later date, to be determined.
