Her favorite after –school job early in life was supervise her three younger sisters—Jackie and twin sisters Dean and Jean—by teaching them what she had learned in school earlier that day.
Soon after graduating from Walker County High School in Jasper, Alabama, she married Bill George, a dashing military pilot, and started her own family of four—three sons, Danny, David and Doug, and one daughter, Joan.
As a young adult, she became a Christian and was called to teach the word of God and she faithfully fulfilled that commission for more than 60 years. Her wonderful love for children led her to open and operate George’s Day Care Center for 22 years.
She is survived by Doug (Carolyn) George and Joan (Charlie) Baab, two grand-children, and four great-grandchildren.
Evelyn made many good friends in her journey through life and will always be treasured and dearly missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Apopka Chapel.
