Henry was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on September 6, 1933 to the late Patrick Henry Snavely and Mary Avonia Watson Snavely. He moved to Apopka in 1987. Henry worked mostly in the construction industry. He served in the military from 1953-1957 and continued serving in the Army Reserve until his retirement. He was married to the late Barbara Jean Brooks Snavely for 57 years. They both provided a Christian and loving home for their three children, Cathy, Susan, and Jim. Henry was an avid reader and could often be found reading his Bible. He was active at Renewal Church of Apopka and treasured the friendships that he had there. He enjoyed gardening and many family members and friends were the recipient of goods from his garden. He especially loved gifting starfruit to loved ones. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.H. Snavely and Mary Avonia Watson Snavely; brother, Charlie Snavely; sister, Mary Alice Snavely; and his loving wife, Barbara Brooks Snavely. He is survived by his children, Cathy (Robert) Noe of Kingsport, Tennessee; Susan (Jon) McGuire of Apopka; and Jim Snavely; brothers Jim (Peggy) Snavely; John (Rosemarie) Snavely; sisters Catherine Browder, Nancy Ray, and twin sister Ann Spears, all of Tennessee; grandchildren Joshua Noe, Nicholas Noe, JB McGuire, Lauren McGuire, and Brooke McGuire; great grandchildren Jon Bailey McGuire III and Tyson McGuire. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Renewal Church, 2335 Apply Lane, Apopka. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the landscaping for the new church.
