James R. Coffman, Sr., 88 of Tangerine, FL passed away on February 20, 2020. He was born in Bloomsburg, PA on August 17, 1931 to Raymond S. and Olive (Quick) Coffman. James proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years (1948 – 1968). After he left the Navy, he was a Police Officer in Hampton, VA from 1968 - 1974 before he returned to Civil Service where he worked until his retirement in 1989. He was a devoted member of the Tangerine Community Church. He enjoyed a superior love for poodles, RV’ing Life and NASCAR race car driving. Bowling was another of his passions. He enjoyed Karaoke, which he sang every Wednesday night. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anita in 2012. James is survived by his sons: James R. Coffman, Jr. and wife Luzviminda; Thomas O. Coffman and wife Tammy and Ronald S. Coffman and wife Gale, and by his four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services for James’ will be held on Monday, March 9 at 1 PM at the Tangerine Community Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Following the Inurnment Ceremony, a Celebration of James’ Life will be at the Tangerine Improvement Society (TIS).
