Jorge E. Reyes, 57, passed away at his residence while surrounded by his loving family early Friday morning, June 23, 2023. He was a resident of Lady Lake for close to 30 years and fondly known to many as “Chile”. Jorge Enrique Reyes Maldonado was born March 5, 1966, in Peumo, Chile, one of 9 children born to Norma and Carlos Reyes of Esperanza, Chile.
Jorge was a man of many talents, migrating to the US in 1989, working as a horseman in the game of polo. “Chile” was a player on the very first Villages Polo Team and in 2003 played in the prestigious tournament known as “International Polo Week” for the country of Chile at The Villages Polo Club.
From a very young age, Jorge set out to accomplish his dreams through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. He managed to squeeze every minute out of every day to make the lives of those he loved better than the day before. He worked tirelessly from owning a small business maintaining vehicles to caring for horses. He was employed full-time with The Villages for nearly 30 years, most recently working for The Villages Charter School. Jorge accomplished whatever he set his mind to do, fearlessly forging his way forward, all the while making it look easy with his wisdom and foresight.
In 1994 Jorge met his wife, formerly, Kimberly Ward. They raised 2 beautiful daughters together, boasting this was by far his greatest accomplishment and most valued asset; creating a family who cherished and loved one another deeply and unconditionally. In December 2021, he had the privilege of welcoming his first and only grandchild into the world, a boy named Zane Matthew, who captured his heart.
In addition to his mother, Norma Maldonado, Jorge is survived by; his wife, Kimberly Reyes; 3 children, Nadia Alexandra Gonzales Reyes, Ashley Reyes (Matthew) Kaczmarczyk , Mckenzie Noel Reyes; grandson, Zane Matthew Kaczmarczyk; brothers, Antonio, Julio (Joan) and Andres; sisters, Norma (Gustavo), Violeta (Nacho) and Rosa (Esteban).
Jorge was predeceased by; his father, Carlos Reyes; and brothers, Carlos and Jorge.
Following Jorge’s expressed wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make a memory in his honor with someone you love; a priceless gift that will continue to give, locked away in your heart forever. Jorge delighted in the love and laughter amongst friends and family and this would be the best way to honor and remember him.
