Born in 1963, Laurie was raised in Corning, New York, where she graduated from Corning-Painted Post East High School with the Class of 1981. She later made her home in Freeville, NY where she built a life centered around family, compassion, and caring for others.
Laurie dedicated much of her career to helping patients as a surgical assistant with Cayuga Facial Surgery, where she worked from 2000 until her retirement in 2020. She chose to retire in order to lovingly care for her husband during his illness, a reflection of the selfless devotion that defined her life.
Laurie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clayton Bronson; her sister, Lisa Szerszen; and her father, Frederick Stevens.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Carol Stevens; her daughters, Amanda (Justin) Bronson and Malorie Bronson; her brothers, Matthew (Rebekah) Stevens, Mark (Tammy) Stevens, and Paul (Stacy) Stevens; and the light of her life, her grandson, Brycen Naftel. She also leaves behind her cherished granddogs, who always brought a smile to her face.
Laurie found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family, especially making memories with her grandson. She enjoyed shopping, relaxing with her favorite television shows, and simply being surrounded by those she loved. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at a later date in her home state of New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) or to a local Humane Society of your choice in Laurie’s memory.
