Margie was born on July 6, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joseph P. Cormier and Evelyn Marie Arsenault. Margie grew up in Elmwood Park, New Jersey and went to Lodi High School. She was the youngest of eight children.
At the age of 16, she married the love of her life, Gerald Dugas, on March 20, 1954. They loved each other through all that life threw at them for over 47 years until the time of Gerry’s death on May 12, 2001.
They are the parents of 4 children, Gerald Dugas, Jr. (who preceded her in death on January 7, 2010); Evelyn Gish, Dale Joseph (Tina); and Joseph Patrick; 13 grandchildren: Larry Williams, Jason Albury (Pamela), Michael Albury (who preceded her in death on November 6, 2005); Devyn Pulis (Joseph); Candice Umana (Rigo), Alyson, Joseph P. Jr.; Kyle, Jennifer, Jessica Tipton (Jerry), Dean Dugas (Dana), Jeffrey Dugas and Adam Cassidy (Viv); 17 great-grandchildren: Averie, Gavin, Caitlyn, Rigo, Alexzander, Madison, Kayleigh, Lacy, J.T., Chase, Lexi, Dallas, Savannah, Amelia, Karissa, Amaya, and Kayson; All of her grandchildren called her Mama. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Al & Rita Shiller, sister-in-law, Louise Cormier, and many nieces and nephews.
Margie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In 1983 at a Dwight Thompson Church Service in Lakeland, Florida, Margie dedicated her life to the Lord.
There will be no calling hours. A virtual service is being planned for Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00 am.
Margie will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida alongside her husband, Gerald Dugas, Sr. and son, Gerald Dugas, Jr.
