OBITUARY

Maria De La Luz Montes Medeles

February 23, 1950August 31, 2020

Maria was a loving, strong, independent, and humorous woman. She touched the lives of many individuals over the last 70 years. She leaves behind seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many more loved ones. Maria is preceded in death by her husband Erasmo Medeles and by her daughter Sandra Medeles.

She worked with her beloved husband Erasmo as a migrant worker for 16 years. At the end of the day, everything Maria did was for what she loved most: her family. She was always dancing, especially when listening to Tejano and 60’s-80’s music. She got so much joy out of cooking for her family. Maria loved the Green Bay Packers, crossword puzzles, and if you followed her on social media, you would know how much she enjoyed taking selfies.

As many of you know, Maria recently passed on August 31st,2020. She battled diabetes for several years. She fought long and hard with many other health issues over time but still managed to stay strong through all of it. Eventually, her health deteriorated with COVID-19 over the course of two months. Her passing was very abrupt and unexpected. We are devastated by the loss of Maria. She will truly be missed. You are welcome to send flowers and add a memory to her obituary

Thank you. With love, Maria's family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 7 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Apopka. Funeral Service will be at 12 Noon at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Edgewood Greenwood Cemetery in Apopka, FL.

Ahh my Tia Maria Bonita, I remember when I was very young, Tia would drive a white Ford truck coming to my house with all my cousins to talk to wuelita golla. I'm going to miss the good ol days. I'm a true Dallas cowboys fan but for my Tia...her being a die hard Green Bay Packer fan, I want the Packers to win this year's Super Bowl for her. I'm going to miss you Tia... Say hi to Grandma golla, to tio erasmo and to Mami rosita for me and everyone else. Love you Tia.

My heartfelt condolences to all of my cousins, the grandkids, great grandkids and to all the family. Maria was a very kind soul. I can recall the countless visits she made to my moms house. I would often find her there when I would visit mom. Although she was moms aunt, they treated each other as good friends. Maria often called or FB messaged me to check in on me and my boys. Not too long ago she called that my mom had visited her in Florida. She knew mom had passed 10 years ago but she felt her presence. She now rejoices in Heaven with Tio Erasmo and she’s continuing those great conversations with mom. May her soul be resting in peace and perpetual light shine upon her.

one of my favorite memories was being able to walk down stairs and hear her sing so out loud to her favorite songs she would have her headphones in and sing like she was the only person there . one of her favorite songs were “ i just called to say i love you “ by Stevie wonder . every time we heard that tone it just reminded me of grandma. from time to time id love to put that song on and it would automatically reminded me of how grandma loved that song it almost felt like i can hear her sing just like she used to . i love you and miss you so so much grandma. save a spot for me please ❤️

We used to take lotta selfies too and videos & have our little dances lol. I love you mom always and forever❤️
