Marlene "Ritty" Randall Powell (Randall)

Marlene Luletta “Ritty” Powell (formerly Randall), 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on July 31, 2014. She was born to the late Zachariah E. and Imojean Randall in St. Catherine, Jamaica on August 13, 1925. Ritty was a woman rich in faith and talent. She worked as a nurse in Jamaica, England, and the United States (Florida). She was good with her hands and created beautiful works crocheting and knitting. In addition, Ritty had a beautiful and powerful singing voice, and she would sing with her brother accompanying her on the piano back in Jamaica. Throughout her life and toward the end of her life, Ritty became engrossed in Scripture and would read it and pray often. She had two children in her lifetime, Larry and Olive, and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Ritty was preceded in her passing by her parents; Brothers, Ernest, Leo, George, Albert, Franklin, and Raphael Randall; Sisters, Louise and Idana; and Grandson, David.

She is survived by her children, Son Lawrence Williams of Houston, Texas and Daughter Olive Mundel (Anthony) also of Houston, Texas; Brother, Leslie Randall; Sister, Murial West; Grandchildren, Deborah, Danielle, Kevin, Randall, and Brando; and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 10:00am-11:00am at Baldwin Fairchild Apopka, 601 N. Park Ave., Apopka, FL 32712. Service will follow the Visitation at 11:00am. A Reception, also at the funeral home, will follow the Service.

Arrangements are under the care of Baldwin Fairchild Apopka.
