Sam was born in 1933 in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Anne & John Riggi. After honorably serving in the Navy, he moved to Orlando and opened Mr. Sam's Styling Salon in Pine Hills, where he became well-known for his haircuts and sets.
A person of remarkable spirit, Sam dedicated his life to his family and his community. He will be remembered for his role as a dedicated Boy Scout leader and his incredible versatility as a jack-of-all-trades, a skilled baker (he was known for his pepperoni buns) and a talented handyman who even built a few houses.
Sam is survived by his son, Buddy, and daughter, Kim; and his grandchildren, Dominic and Madison Riggi & Milla Hellstrom. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Bernice Riggi.
The family is in the process of organizing a celebration of life for both Sam and Bernice; details will be announced soon.
