William (Bill) died peacefully on May 29, 2019 in Orlando. He was 72. Bill was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and despite having cerebral palsy, lived a happy and full life.
In the 1960’s, Bill moved to Sunland Hospital and Training Center to begin physical and occupational therapies. Later, he transferred to a group home setting where he continued his therapies and earned his High School diploma.
Known as an advocate for persons with disabilities, Bill was chosen on several occasions to speak at conferences held at the state capital. Locally, Bill conferred with the Lynx Transportation Organization as a spokesperson and guide for citizens with impairments.
In 1992, Bill was hired as a customer service agent with the Target Corporation in Altamonte Springs. He greatly enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie of his fellow employees and customers. Bill thrived and and remained in this position for nearly 30 years.
Throughout his life, Bill was known as a thoughtful and generous person with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that will be sorely missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Frets. He is survived by his sister, Ann; niece, Elizabeth and numerous cousins.

Funeral arrangements are through Baldwin Fairchild of Apopka. Interment will be at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
