Dear Dan and Cathy:
I was saddened to learn that your mother recently passed away.  As you know, Billie and Lyle were like second parents to me - for which I am very grateful.  I remember fishing with your dad at the jetty and camping at Lake Shasta with your family.  And, I too remember their roses at the house on 11th Street.  Billie and Lyle will be missed for sure.

Please accept my sincerest sympathy for the loss of your mother.  The last time I saw her was at my monther's 80th birthday party, but when I'm in your old neighborhood in Arcata I often think of both your mother and father.  They were wonderful people who will be missed.

My prayers are with you all during this time.  Mrs. Ochletree was my 5th grade teacher at Sunset Elementary School, and instrumental in teaching me that I had the power and skills to learn on my own.  She challeneged us all to discover and identify the wildflowers in our community and forever impressed on me that I could learn anything I wanted to!  ....a big lesson for a 5th grader.  She touched the lives of many and I'm sure she's enjoying the flower gardens in heaven.

Dear Dan and Cathy, I remember well your Mom at Sunset School. My mother Thelma Haines was the secretary there, and always held your mother in the highest esteem. Living on 11th St. I loved going by and seeing her wonderful roses. I know you will miss her every day. She was a fantastic person!

Billie and Lyle were such a special part of my childhood.  Much love to all of you.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mother.   My husband and I met her at farmers market where we sold berries of all types.  She became a regular customer for years.   She was such a sweet  and gracious lady and always had time to chit chat when we delivered to her in Arcata.   I particularly liked it when she would tell me about the roses in her yard.  How beautiful they were!  May God lead her to a place where there is peace, and that peace be eternal, as He has promised.

Please accelpt my heartfelt condolences with regard to the passing of your mother.  In addition to all the wonderful things you know about your mother, she was most kind and gracious to those, like me, with whom she was only acquainted.  It was my privilege to have a pleasant visit with her a couple of years ago.  Over the years, I have often remembered a few of her kind words of many years ago.  If all the nice things 5 year olds are told about Jesus are true, when time is no more...... there is a party going on to which we are all invited that is filled with wonderful people like your parents.
