Eugene Wilson

Eugene has peacefully passed from this life while surrounded by friends and loved ones. Eugene was a loving, kind, and sober man who said recently that he owed his wonderful life to people who were friends of Bill W. Eugene was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 14, 1938. As a young man, he joined and served honorably in the United States Navy. During his tours of duty, he travled around the globe multiple times from his home port in San Diego. After completing his military service, Eugene decided to stay in California where he was successfully self-employed for many years. Eugene was an accomplished musician who was often heard playing at events around our community. He had a deep love for jazz music. Eugene was the creator and proprietor of Love Unlimited Publishing Company, a local business that provided inspirational materials to people all over the world. Eugene was a nondenominational minister and marriage officiant. During his years in Humboldt County, Eugene performed over 375 wedding ceremonies. He dedicated himself to helping create meaningful and unique experiences for those he served. He truly cherished the honor of being a part of that special day for so many loving couples. Eugene's favorite saying was "Give yourself the gift of time". He tried to apply this principle to every aspect of his life, and he was always willing to take the time to share his many gifts with others. During his final days. Eugene has shared laughter and tears with many of the people who have been touched by his kindness and wisdom through the years. Eugene is survived by his three children, Mark, Rene, and Michael, and by Marie the mother of his children. He will be greatly missed by his family and by the countless people who are better for having known and loved him. A celebration of Eugene's life will be held 3/14/11 at 6:30pm at the Masonic Lodge 251 Bayside Rd, Arcata, Ca. In lieu of flowers, Eugene has requested that memorial donations be made to the caring folks of Hospice of Humboldt, 2010 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, CA 95521.
