Peggy Joy McKenzie

3/23/1925 - 6/30/2011 We said goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Peggy Joy McKenzie, on June 30, 2011 after a short illness. Peggy Zirkle was born in Portland, Oregon on March 23, 1925. She lived in Port Orchard, Washington with her parents Charlie & Joy, her two sisters Maxine and Bev, and her two brothers John and Ron. She married her high school sweetheart, Ted McKenzie in 1946, moved to California, eventually settling in Arcata, and then retired to Willow Creek in 1987. Peggy worked for Trinity Supply in Eureka for over twenty years.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Ted. She leaves behind her three daughters: Penny Clark (Palo Alto, CA), Kathi Springmeier (Willow Creek, CA) and Tara McKenzie (Santa Clara, CA), a granddaughter Lyndsay Knox (Redwood Shores, CA) and two great granddaughters Emma and Sophia. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Daisy who was her constant companion. She will be forever missed by her family and all of her many friends in Willow Creek, who dropped by frequently to spend pleasant hours visiting on Mom's deck. Her newest group of friends were the wonderful caretakers at St. Joseph Hospital - her beautiful and warm smile and her loveliness charmed them all.

A celebration of Peggy's wonderful life will be held on Saturday, July 30th, from 2pm-4pm at the Willow Creek Golf and Country Club.
