Dick passed away at 84 years of age, on August 3, 2010 in his home. He was born to Robert and Alma Davison in Eureka, California on June 26, 1926. Dick lived most of his life in Orick, California, on a farm homesteaded by his grandparents. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1944 and served in the US Army 1946-47. He married Winnie Hill March 4, 1950 and they celebrated 60 years together this year. While living in Orick, he worked in the lumber industry and operated the Davison Dairy. Dick and Winnie raised their 5 children on the Davison Dairy in Orick. In 1992, Dick retired from the dairy and moved to McKinleyville. After moving to McKinleyville he took a "temporary" job as a Manager of Thunderbird Mobile Estates retiring 15 years later after being diagnosed with Leukemia. Dick enjoyed reading, traveling, playing golf, doing crossword puzzles, following baseball and playing endless games of Trivia and Scrabble when family was in town. He loved his family and would spend countless hours telling stories and had an uncanny ability to remember details. Dick always had time for others, no one was a stranger long and his life touched all who knew him. Most special to him was the Christian church convention that was held annually at the Davison farm for many years. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lowell Davison and sister Clarice Cole. He is survived by his wife Winnie Davison, sons Bruce Davison of McKinleyville, California, Steve (Doris) Davison of Amity, Oregon, Doug (Jeanne) Davison of Stayton, Oregon, daughters Debi (Ed) LaVigne of Tigard, Oregon and Cindi (Bob) Sutter of McKinleyville, California, twelve grandchildren Stan Davison, Shawna Marshall, Kenneth Davison, Kindra Davison, David Davison, Ryan Belding, Jeff Belding, Scott Davison, Rodney Davison, Tessa Davison, Tiffany Sutter and Preston Sutter, two great grandsons Aiden and Finn Belding.
