Ruby Oleta Cahill

John and Ruby came to Humboldt County from Quincy in 1956. Ruby worked at local hospitals as a nurses aide, raised her son and took pride in spoiling all of the children in her life. Ruby is survived by her son Michael Cahill and his wife Carol of Eureka, grandchildren Linda Bare and her husband Gary of McKinleyville, Michael Cahill Jr. of Arcata, Becky Saunders and her husband Dennis of Cotati, Sean Cahill and his wife Cindy of Windsor; great grandchildren, Jennifer Furber and her husband Loren of McKinleyville, Jessica Sundberg and her husband Ron of McKinleyville, Julie Vinum of Arcata, Megan Roberts and her husband Kevin of San Diego, Justin and Victorian Cahill of Windsor; great-great grandchildren Ryall Furber, Ziah Finigan, Julian, Jocelyn and Samantha Sundberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held during Rosary which is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Paul's Chapel, Arcata. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1670 Janes Road, Arcata, with Father Gerry Gormley officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Arcata.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Humboldt 2010 Myrtle Ave, Eureka, CA 95501. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Candi O'Dell from Visiting Angels, Hospice of Humboldt, the doctors and nurses of St. Joseph Hospital for the wonderful care and support they provided. We would also like to thank all those who visited her and gave our family support.
