Betty Brewer Gay Wallace Woodell

Mrs. Woodell was born in Sanford, NC on January 11, 1932 to the late Isaac Calhoun and Permelia Fentress Bridges Brewer. She had been a lifelong resident of this area and was previously employed with North State Telephone and Laze Daisy Florist. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Trinity. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Honbarrier. Her first marriage was in 1954 to Roy E. Gay, who preceded her in death in 1970. Her second marriage was to Jack D. Wallace, Sr. in 1977 and preceded her in death in 1998.

Betty is survived by her 3rd husband Ben Woodell, whom she married in 2006, of the residence.

Also surviving are her daughter, Teresa “Terri” Gay Fincher Hutchinson and husband Craig “Hutch” of Trinity; granddaughter, Jamie Fincher Duvall and husband Travis of Thomasville; step-grandson, Randy Hutchinson of Thomasville; a sister, Carol Cotreau of Jacksonville, Fl., and a brother J. W. “Bill” Brewer and wife Nancy of High Point.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Sechrest Funeral Service of Archdale with the Rev. Stephen Welborn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
