

Don was the beloved husband of Dorothy “Dot” Vander Beke, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.
In addition to Dot, he is survived by his daughters, Shannon St. Pierre and Renee Stolzenberger (Otto). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Lauren Watkins (Brent), Vander St. Pierre (Sydney), Wesley St. Pierre (Briana), and Amelia St. Pierre (Justin). Don was also blessed with five great-granddaughters who often shared popcorn, and brought him tremendous joy.
Don is also survived by his sister, Judy Chung (Mike), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Van Regenmortel Vander Beke, and his father, Julius Vander Beke.
Don was a graduate of Purdue University where he was a member of the ROTC. He remained a loyal Boilermaker fan throughout the years. A proud patriot, Don honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He carried the values of service, dedication, and integrity throughout his life.
An avid golfer, Don found great enjoyment on the golf course, where he spent countless hours pursuing a game he loved. Some of his favorite memories were made alongside his favorite golfing buddy and brother-in-law, Jim McNelis. Whether enjoying a friendly round, sharing stories, or celebrating a great shot, the time they spent together brought Don tremendous happiness.
Most of all, Don will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his warm heart, his sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to those around him. He touched many lives and leaves behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
