Edward Eugene Spivey, age 79, of Trinity, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Born and raised in Seagrove Edward had been a Jehovah’s Witness all his life. He owned his own construction business, Spivey Contracting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Anna Yow Spivey; 7 brothers; 1 sister and 2 grandchildren, Jamie and Amy Sibbitt.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ann Tucker Spivey; daughter, Barbara Sibbitt; son Mark Spivey and his wife Missy; daughter Sharon Chadwell and her husband Phillip all of Trinity; sister, Leora Johnson; brother, Jerry Spivey; six grandchildren, Windy Sibbitt, Craig Chadwell, Derek Chadwell, Carol Spivey, Jared Chadwell and Rachel Chadwell and four great grandchildren, Courtney, Gabby, Caden and Alexis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm in the chapel at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Ed Spivey.
