Emily Lee (Smith) McCormick

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2018, in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Pastor Roger Price. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. McCormick was born in Brunswick County, NC on September 5, 1921. She was a daughter of the late Curtis Lee Smith and the late Mary Alice Jones Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Eugene McCormick; a daughter, Donna La Rue Blackman; a son, Ronald Van McCormick; four brothers, William Leroy Smith, Roland Lee Smith, Walter Duniven and Lawrence Duniven; two sisters, Edna Mintz and Pauline Price Poole.

Mrs. McCormick owned and operated Le Mac Arts and Craft in Whiteville, NC and Rock Hill, SC. She had a true gift and a passion for creating oil, acrylic and water color paintings. She loved her family.

Surviving are a son, Maxey Gene McCormick and wife June; a sister, Daisy Deaton; two grandsons, Jeffrey Scott McCormick and wife Shirlene and Patrick Ryan McCormick; four great grandchildren, C. J. McCormick and wife Marissa, Scott McCormick, Maggie McCormick and Lilly McCormick.
