Florence, and my mother, Lola Hayes, were best of friends through Lola’s passing in 2003; Florence attended her funeral at Sumter, SC.

Florence and Lola did many things together; some favorites were teaching boys Sunday School at North Main Street Baptist Church; they cooked together; Florence was a great baker!

They were active in several High Point Garden Clubs and often hosted meetings in their homes: crafts, and especially Christmas decorations, were favorite endeavors.

The beauty that Florence created was often recognized with awards and prizes!

We were honored to attend Florence’s 100th birthday celebration and to visit with her periodically over the years in High Point and Archdale.

It brings a smile to my face to think of this long-term friendship, and tears to my eyes to know that Florence is passed away…truly one of the Greatest Generation.

So sorry to hear of the passing of a wonderful lady. I enjoyed so much all the times I saw her at Sandy's. I even started calling her Aunt Florence. What a wonderful life she lived. She was truly blessed. God has called another angel home. Condolences to the families.

I am so sad to loose Aunt Florence, she's been so special to me and my family all my life.My brother Charlie Dennis and I stayed with Grandma Dennis after our mother passed away in 1945 and our daddy was away in the army and Florence and the other children have been there for us all these yrs.She and Uncle Claude were there for us.When she was 98 she was living with me and we brought my great grandson home to live with us and she and Daniel were best buddies. She was a great role model for me. I have the flu and will not get to see her here, but know she will be waiting for us when God calls us home.
