George Allen Wray Jr., 72, was welcomed into his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ arms on April 26, 2024.
Known to many as "Buzzy", he graduated from Ben L. Smith High School in 1970. He attended GTCC for technical training for Gilbarco where he worked for 20 years. He also worked for Guilford Mills for 10 years, and with his best friend Sam at Solo in Greensboro for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his father George Allen Wray, mother Betty York Wray, and nephew Chris Boggs.
He is survived by his sister Janice & husband Dan Hardy of Wentworth, sister Lori Wray Shelton of Randleman, nephew Gary Boggs & wife Lisa of Stokesdale, nephew Keith Boggs of Oak Ridge, nephew Michael Roddy & wife Michelle of High Point, & niece Valerie Farlow & husband Clayton of Archdale.
Buzzy loved the Lord, his family, sports, and talking to anyone that he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His many great nephews and nieces will remember all the great newspaper articles and the many pieces of Werther's candy Uncle Buzzy shared with them. Buzzy was a member of Glenola Baptist Church. He came to know Christ later in life, and in death he is an example that it's never too late to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.
The family along with friends will be honoring the life of Buzzy with a celebration of life service Sunday, May 5th from 3 until 5 pm at Glenola Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 8330 US Hwy 311, Archdale, NC 27263. Memorials may be made to Glenola Baptist Church Men on a Mission. Online condolences may be made at AdvantageArchdale.com.
