Helen Patricia Dunbar Dykes, age 86, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Randolph Hospice Home. She fought the good fight and kept the faith.
Helen was born in Washington, NC, November 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Hallis and Lois LeFever Dunbar. She was a sewer for over sixty years and was currently employed at Radians until her sickness. Helen was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and the Piedmont Association of the Deaf. She would say her family was her greatest love and accomplishment. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Dykes and son, David William Dykes.
She is survived by her beloved children, Debbie Dean (Charlie) and Jeffrey Dykes (Melissa); grandchildren, Trevor Dean (Ashlee), Hunter Dean (Jessica), Ryan Dykes, Haven Dykes and Avery Dykes; sister, Gail Perry and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Helen's life will be held at 2 p.m.Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home in Archdale by Rev. Mark Loy. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph. Online condolences may be made at Advantagearchdale.com.
