

John was born and raised in Mars Hill, NC. He later moved to Asheboro, NC after he married Christine. He then became Youth Pastor at Midway Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. He loved landscaping and was self-sufficient and resourceful, striving for a life of homesteading and the outdoors. He also enjoyed being a salesman for Behr Buildings. John was also fond of the water, whether it was going to the beach, fishing, or kayaking. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his beloved daughters. John is already deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his wife, Christine Garrison; daughters, Elena and Sterlene Garrison; parents, Philip and Jennifer Garrison; brothers, Chandler Garrison (Brandi) and Matthew Garrison; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Christopher Wescott; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Wendy McMillian; and nieces and nephews, Jazmin, Mason, Kynlie, and Aurora.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church, 6678 Ridge Rd., Lexington, NC, by Pastor Harold McMillian and Brother Gary Crisp. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Brigman-McPeters Cemetery in Mars Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church.
