Kathleen Stroud Hughes

Kathleen Stroud Hughes, age 86, of Trinity, passed away Sunday night, August 19, 2012 at Hospice Home at High Point. Kathleen was born January 18, 1926 in Guilford County to G.K. Stroud and Annie Craver Stroud. She was a life-long resident of the Archdale/ Trinity area. She graduated from Trinity High School Class of 1944. Kathleen was a loved and loving mother, Grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church. She retired from William Alan Furniture.

On July 21, 1945, she married John Leo Hughes, who preceded her in death December 3, 1976. Her parents and grandson, Craig Hughes also preceded her in death. Kathleen is survived by two sons, Jerry Lynn Hughes and wife Ruth and Jack Gregg Hughes and wife Kathy, both of Trinity. Four granddaughters, Lisa Hughes Lech and husband Kevin of Wake Forest, NC, Christy Hughes Nunn and husband Steve of Trinity, Jennifer Hughes Kruger and husband Scott of Richmond, VA, Emily Hughes Green and husband Mike of Myrtle Beach, SC, 13 great grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Lech, Sarah Lech, Joshua Lech, Stevie Nunn, Nicholas Nunn, Morgan Nunn, Mitchell Kruger, Ryan Kruger, Austin Kruger, Reagan Kruger, Michael Green, Anna Kathryn Green and Jack Green; brothers Leonard Stroud and wife Jackie and Lewis Stroud both of Archdale and Several nieces and one nephew.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00-2:00pm Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Mt Gilead United Methodist Church on the corner of Hoover Hill Rd and Mt Gilead Church Rd. A funeral service will be held at 2:15 pm after visitation at the church. Service will be conducted by Rev. James Bowmen. Burial will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the six oldest great grandsons, Stevie, Nicholas, Mitchell, Ryan, Austin and Michael.
