Wade Welch,75, of High Point, NC went to be with his Lord the morning of May 11, 2012. Born in Ellerbe, NC in 1936, he moved to High Point at a young age where he attended Allen Jay School. He retired from Thomas Built Bus and Harris House where he continued to work part-time. Wade’s life revolved around his family. He was a devoted husband and son as well as a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Welch and Jettie Toliver; his brother, Howard Welch; and his sister, MaryAnn Whitt. He is survived by his wife and life partner of 56 years, Martha Welch; his brother, John Edward Welch of Mississippi; three sons; Roger Petty (Hilda), Bill Lambeth (Regina), and Dean Welch (Deborah); and three daughters; Donna Gray (Leroy), Rachel Hind (Stephen), and Darlene Holley (Steve); 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Memorial Chapel in Archdale, NC following a morning service on Tuesday, May 15 at 11:00am. The family will receive guest Monday evening from 7 to 9 at Sechrest Funeral Home in Archdale.
