Pete Reitzel

Pete was a graduate of Liberty High School. Following high school, he served in the US Army and NC National Guard, and was a Sharpshooter on the Machine Gun Team. He courageously served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. He was also a devoted member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, which held a special place in his heart. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling in his RV and loved riding motorcycles.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Reitzel; sons, Joey Reitzel (Mylee), Richard Reitzel (Elizabeth), and Jerry Daly (Lileska); brother, Ronnie Reitzel (Karen); sister, Linda Paschal; grandson, Chris; granddaughters, Megan and Brianna; great grandson, Theodore; great granddaughter, Raelyn; and his dogs, Handsome and Cooper.

A celebration of Pete's life will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 4512 Hopewell Church Road, Trinity, NC 27370, by Pastor Daniel Han.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church.
