Russell (Bill) Jones Pugh, age 94, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021.
Russell was born on December 16, 1926 at the family home place in Trinity, NC. He was the son of Thomas Milton Pugh and Martha Jane Jones Pugh. A graduate of Trinity High School, he also served in the US Army, prior to a successful career in the furniture industry. He was best known for his strong work ethic as well as his generous nature in helping others.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Nelsie Belle Pugh, who passed away in 2008. During their marriage they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the USA and spending time with family at the beach. Russell is survived by 3 stepchildren, Lloyd, Barbara and Brenda.
Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Peggy, and five nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Russell was predeceased by three brothers Ralph, James “JD,” and Arnold Pugh; and one sister, Doris Pugh.
The family is being served by Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services of Archdale, NC. Private graveside services with military honors will be held at a later date.
