Ms. Yvonne Curtis

Yvonne passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at the age of 83 in High Point, North Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two loving children, Lawrence Charles Wilkerson III and Tonya Yolanda Wilkerson.

She was a loving grandmother to Khalilah V. Atkinson and Lawrence Charles Wilkerson IV, and a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Kaliyah Z. Slocumb, Karmen I. Slocumb, Rahmir R. Williams, Lawrence Charles Wilkerson V (Charlie), and Jackson Raymond Wilkerson.

Yvonne will be greatly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

There are so many childhood memories that Lawrence and Tonya shared about their mother. Above all, they wanted everyone to know that she was a great mother and provider who always put her children first, even when times were difficult.

There were times when Yvonne worked multiple jobs to make sure her children had a roof over their heads. Lawrence and Tonya remember the long hugs and cuddles they shared with their mother and the love and comfort she gave them throughout their lives.

As Yvonne grew older, Tonya was blessed with the opportunity to care for her mother in her home. Yvonne enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and drawing, and she read her Bible every day.

Tonya remembers her mother as loving and always being there whenever she needed her. Lawrence remembers how much his mother cared for and provided for them. One of her favorite Bible passages was Psalm 23, which brought her comfort and reflected the faith she carried throughout her life.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; thy cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

A Celebration of Yvonne life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10am at Advantage Funerals and Cremations in Archdale, NC. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Cemetery of High Point, NC.
