Heaven has gained a beautiful angel whose light will continue to shine upon us. Aleen M. Chapleau, born September 12, 1935, was a longtime, active member of St. James Catholic Church and will be remembered for her strong faith, dedication to family and generous heart. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, neighbor, and friend, her kindness and compassion touched many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Aleen’s spirit will continue to inspire us, and we will forever honor the legacy of this remarkable woman. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Chapleau, she was the loving mother of Mary Rowe; Terri (Rick) Duran; Patti (Ken) DeJuilio; Kathi (Dave) Woitas; Marci (Dave) Johnson; Jim (Nellie) Chapleau; Tom (Kathy) Chapleau; and the late Bob Chapleau.
She was a cherished grandmother to John and Shannon Fitzpatrick, Hali Duran, Max (Krysell) DeJuilio, Dominick DeJuilio, Nicole (Tim) Bailey, Sean (Ali) Woitas, Luke Johnson, Collin and Madison Chapleau, and Kyle and Jake Chapleau, and a proud great-grandmother of Solomon and Jett Bailey, Mason and Cassie Woitas, and Rocco DeJuilio. Aleen was the dear daughter of the late Agnes and John Mooney and beloved sister of John (Marilyn) Mooney, Tom (Bev) Mooney, Pat (the late Jeff) Gherardi, Dan (Chris) Mooney, and the late Joe Mooney.
Visitation 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday April 12, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights, IL. Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday April 13 at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
