She was a loving aunt to Sue (Bill) and Kurt (Mary) and their children Annemarie Braun Ayukawa, Rosemary Braun Cormican, Becky Peckus Lamoureux and Vicki Peckus.
Alice was known for her love of animals, especially miniature Schnauzers. She was often seen walking her beloved Sassy who brought her much joy and comfort. Other favorites were a good, homemade margarita and black decaf coffee. Some of her favorite things to do were sharing appetizers with friends and playing games such as Rummikub and Mexican Train Dominoes. She loved to read, especially books about dogs, watch her favorite TV shows (The Bold and the Beautiful, Shark Tank and Dancing with the Stars to name a few). She spent a great deal of time at the library, checking out books and movies.
While Glenn was alive they traveled many places but their favorite was Mexico and they went there many times. They had a dear group of friends that they shared great times with over many years. They also had wonderful neighbors who became friends as well. After Glenn passed, Alice enjoyed the companionship of the late Bob Haack and the late John Doyle.
For most of her career Alice was a producer at the Assurance Agency in Arlington Heights. She was a long time member of St. James Church and later joined a bible study group. During her 15 years with the group she made friends and enjoyed discussing scripture. She was generous with donations to many organizations to help animals and cure diseases. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of the United States or the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Many thanks to the staff at Solana, the caregivers from Golden Bridge Home Care and the nurses from Kindred Care Hospice for the phenomenal care they provided Alice in her final days.
