Alice Eleanore Gryzik

Alice Eleanore Gryzik, 97, was born on July 1, 1925, in Chicago, IL to Vincent and Josephine (nee Wisniewski) Sompolski. She died peacefully with her family present on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Westbrook Senior Living, in Streamwood, Illinois.

Alice worked for Marshall Fields for over 43 years as a sales associate in the cosmetics department while helping customers experience the true Marshall Fields that she believed in and loved. She enjoyed her book clubs and participating in the many committees at St. Edna Catholic Church and was active with social activities while living at Luther Village. Our Mom was dedicated to her family, making family gatherings special for all, and was always the life of the party! She made everyone feel welcome into her home.

Alice is survived by her children Candice (Bill) Anderson, Michael (Marion) Gryzik, and Gregory (JoAnn) Gryzik; her grandchildren Eric (Valerie), Brent (Marissa), and Christopher (Grace) Anderson, Lauren, Nicole, Kristen, and Bridget Gryzik; her great-grandchildren Hawkins and Evelyn Anderson, Serenity, Addison and Aaron Gryzik.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her son David (Rachel) and her siblings, Irene and Ralph.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2022, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and from 9:00 am until time of Memorial mass at 10:00 am, Tuesday at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter (https://www.alz.org/illinois?form=alz_donate), American Cancer Society (http://www.cancer.org), or to a charity of the donor's choice in Alice's name.
