Over her lifetime, Alvera and Bob loved to travel with groups and friends. She loved babysitting and spending time with grandchildren when she could. A special trip for 80th birthday was to Branson, where she saw favorite group, the Gatlin Brothers. She loved family visits, birthday and holiday celebrations. Alvera liked music and had a collection of favorite oldies like Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Tom Jones. She also enjoyed the group resident trips through Luther Village when able. Her earlier hobbies included reading every Debbie Macomber book she could get, latch-hooking and embroidering pillowcases. She really enjoyed when the grandchildren came for their weekend rummy sessions and grandson would take her out to tour the gardens, pond and see the fish and ducks. Her declining health slowed her down a bit, but she always had a smile and let you know how much you were loved.
Alvera is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bruce) Honaker and stepdaughter, Celeste (Paul) Dempsey; grandchildren, Michael (Megan), Timothy (Libby), Christina, Matthew, Jason, Jennifer (Diego), Kimberly (Rick), Max; and Great-grandchildren, Jarrod (Marissa), Kirsten, Sarah, Brandon, Riley, Hunter, Diego, Jr.
She is preceded in death by twin sister, Valera; Brother, Raymond; Daughter, Valerie; and husbands, Dayton and Robert
