

Alyssa Milligan passed away on September 8th, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on August 14th, 2000, in Barrington, Illinois, to Steve and Kimberly Milligan.
Alyssa was a 2018 graduate of John Hersey High School, a 2022 graduate of Wheaton College, and a Belmont physical therapy graduate student. Sweet Alyssa dedicated her life to loving others well and loving God with all her heart. Some of the people experiencing her love were her family, her friends, and her church, violin, running, and biking communities, both in the Chicago area and Nashville. She had a special place in her heart for orphans and the people of Uganda.
She is survived by her parents, her brothers Cade and Carson Milligan, her grandmothers Jean Vander Ark and Ann Milligan, her aunt Karen (Mark) Beamer, her uncles Brian (Julie) Vander Ark, David Milligan, and Bob (Stephanie) Milligan, andmany cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers Kenneth Vander Ark and Bob Milligan.
A visitation will take place from 4:00 PM til 8:00 PM on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at Willow Creek Community Church, Chapel B 67 Algonquin Rd. South Barrington, IL 60010. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Alyssa’s life and her love of the people of Uganda, her family has requested that charitable donations be made to Trauma Free World and their East African Collective - Uganda focus. 100% of your donation will go towards training national caregivers to become Affiliate Trainers in Trauma Informed Care in multiple locations across Uganda. The impact will carry forward a sustainable legacy of helping orphaned and vulnerable children to heal from their past trauma and move forward in dependence on Jesus, interdependence within their community, and independence in creating a new future for generations forward.
