Andy was a kind and gentle human being to everyone he met. He loved his wife, Frances Marie Taylor, and his two children, Nora Leigh Taylor, and Gabriel Ian Taylor, with his whole heart, with all his strength, and every ounce of his soul.
His compassionate and supportive nature made it easy for people to talk to Andy. He was an expert at giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and believing the best in people instead of assuming the worst.
Andy loved jazz and classical music. He played the trumpet in the Indiana University School of Music. Few people would expect that Andy spent some time in his twenties as an American Express Tour Guide in Hawaii and as a DJ.
He was a lifelong learner-always striving to be the best version of himself he could be. It was not unusual for Andy to be reading two or three books at a time-each one focused on a theme that offered new ways to be intentional with his time as a husband, father, friend, and professional.
Andy enjoyed a remarkably successful career in the field of IT. He worked for PSM Partners as a Practice Director in Solutions Integration. Andy loved mentoring employees, engaging with customers, and collaborating with peers. Throughout his career and in every role he held, it was fascinating to watch his mind at work. When a project went sideways and skillful intervention was needed, Andy always knew what to do to make things right and restore confidence.
His interests were as diverse as the ways in which he saw the world. He loved hearing the stories of people from all backgrounds, so listening to TED talks and podcasts were a favorite pastime. He loved playing games like Forbidden Island or Settlers of Catan with his kids on Friday nights.
Andy took exquisite care of his body and his mind with disciplined workout and meditation routines, healthy eating, and time for self-reflection. He loved martial arts and held a first-degree black belt in an Okinawan style of karate called Shorei Goju Ryu. He held an orange belt in Krav Maga. As for healthy eating, no one prepared grilled meat better than Andy. We must resign ourselves to disappointment wherever we order steaks, chicken, or seafood from this point forward.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Taylor, and grandparents-Harold and Margaret Mahoney, and Marie and Orville Taylor. He is survived by his mother, Jane Ann Taylor; his wife, Frances Taylor, and his two children, Nora and Gabriel. He is also survived by his siblings: Samuel (Becky) Taylor, Gwen (John) Lattimer, Jenny (Robert) Nowalk, Susie (Toby) Clairmont, and Tim (Wrenne) Taylor. Additionally, Andy is survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who loved him.
