Too much time has passed since we last spoke, and our conversation is now a one way communication....Andy, you are one of the finest people I had the honor of working with in AH, although we wore different blue uniforms, our relationship was solid from day one. I will miss your smile, laughter and great outlook on life which has been taken too soon. You made an impact on everyone's life where ever you went, no matter the situation. To your family, condolences seem to fall short in expressing my sadness of your loss. Andy has left a void that will be impossible to fill, and we are only left to cherish our time spent with him. Please know that he will not be soon forgotten, and his legacy will carry on forever. Friends.....

Good morning Andy. You were one of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met. We worked closely together for several years as my serving the Command Staff of the Arlington Heights Police Department, and there aren’t enough kind words I can express at this moment. All I know is everyone really loved you, you were are still will be a great comfort to all of those in need in Heaven, and I wish you and wonderful next life with God and all of the Angels and Loved Ones you will now have an opportunity to be with. My heart goes out to Andy's family and close friends. I am so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of him from grade school at Tabor and in High School too. Andy was quite the ice skater on those church youth group outings to the Rainbow ice rink. I had a crush on him back for a bit in grade school and I will always remember his smile and nice eyes, his sense of humor and the way he carried himself. We were in the high school band, lots of good times as so many of our grade school buddies went on to the same high school and were in band together. Andy was just genuine, a fun and nice guy. I can see from what I have read and the videos of his police interviews that he grew up to be a fine man. I am sorry to have lost touch and so very sorry for your loss. God Bless. We'll have a great reunion one of these days in heaven!

Andy was a student of my husband, and a classmate of Julie, my oldest, at Tabor Lutheran School. He generously loaned his trumpet to Jim for a couple of years. Although our paths separated, it is heartwarming to see that Andy's kindness and faith continued strong. He definitely made Tabor proud. I'm sorry that your time with him was so much shorter than you hoped. A relative told me last year, "Just think, he'll be celebrating Christmas with the original cast." Officer Andy was the consummate gentleman. I was honored to know Andy as I coached his (awesome) daughter Amanda in soccer years ago alongside our daughter Lauren. It is there that I became "Coach Katie", which Andy called me each time he saw me, including out his police car window as I crossed AH Rd asking "Coach Katie--Are you behaving?" I walked a little straighter and said "yes sir I am!". One day at a soccer game, Amanda took a terrible fall, and we knew it was bad. As coach, I looked to the sidelines and saw Officer Andy there in full uniform. He ran out onto the field, cradling Amanda in his arms and put her in his police car. Amanda needed immediate medical attention for her leg, and Andy was going to make sure she got it. Then as we all breathed deeply to pray she'd be ok, I heard the other team say-- "Wow, these police officers sure are great in AH-- such amazing and sensitive service!" I had to smile. This was officer Andy doing the right thing by his family and his community. We are all so deeply saddened by your loss. Love you Ingrid, Matt, Amanda (Jared) and Melissa & family. We’ve lost a great man and a great friend. Full of humor, full of life. So many funny memories. Always honest, straight forward, caring, giving full attention to whoever happened to be in front of him. This one really hurts. If it wasn’t for Andy my magazine the Almanac of Arlington Heights might never have been. He introduced my wife, Mindy and I to the business community and was always there to help us. Whenever I met up with hm I was always greeted with, “Who loves you?” And, “It’s a beautiful thing!” And a big ole genuine grin. Andy, we love you and, your life was a beautiful thing! There was never a time that Andy did not put a smile on everyone's face. His big hugs and kind words were always so comforting. Ingrid, Matt, Amanda, and Melissa....we are so extremely sorry for your loss. Words cannot describe the huge void that we know you must feel, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I cannot imagine a better guardian angel to look after everyone than Andy. God Bless.
