Of Arlington Heights, Illinois
Ann Marie ”Nina” Onystok passed away on January 18, 2024 in Barrington, Illinois. She was born on February 10, 1934 in Utica, New York to Marie Antonia and Guiseppe “Joseph” Nesci.
First and foremost, she was dedicated and loyal to her family whom she loved dearly. From her famous meatballs and Sunday sauce to her holiday traditions! We will forever hold her memory in our hearts.
She was a high spirited person with a passion for gaming. She loved dropping coins into those one armed bandits, LOL. She and her husband made many joyful trips to Vegas for the shows and fun in the sun as well as trying their luck!
She had an extraordinary long career of 30 years with Motorola and passed the tradition on to her son Michael who also spent 30 years at Motorola budding from her getting his foot in the door!
Additionally, she had friendships with long legs stemming back to her childhood in Utica New York. One in particular was her friend Eleanor who lived in the same building when they were children at the ages of 5 and never lost touch. Through marriage, raising children and relocating to Illinois they kept in touch like sisters, right up to Eleanor’s passing last January. Now she joins her family and her friend in joyful reunion. We can hear them laughing their silly heads off as they did for a lifetime!
She is survived by her children Michael J. (Merry) Onystok, Joseph A. (Olivia) Onystok, Judi L. (Randall) Kastens and Julie M. (Robert) Olson; her grandchildren Jennifer Kastens, Joseph Kastens, James Kastens, Michael J. (Ashley) Onystok II, Joseph A Onystok Jr., Jacqueline (Michael) Jambrone, and Jonathan Onystok; her great-grandchildren Michael John Onystok III, Maxwell Christopher Onystok, Nico Michael Jambrone and Nico Anthony Kastens-Orlando, her sisters-in-law Judith Ann Onystok and Raffaella Nesci and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael A. Onystok, her parents, her siblings Frank (Francis) Nesci and Viola (John) Corleto and Joseph Nesci and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Michael Onystok and Julia Onystok.
