Ann Walker

Dorothy “Ann” Walker, 84, of Gurnee, died peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Libertyville, with her family by her side.Ann was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 7, 1940, to parents James and Susie Mae (nee Jackson) Harwell. Ann married Thomas Walker on February 18, 1967, and the couple were married for 41 years until his death on May 27, 2008.Ann was very dedicated to her family and spent countless hours caring for them. She loved raising her children and especially adored her three grandchildren. She enjoyed being active and spent many hours playing tennis and bowling. Ann was a dedicated Chicago Bears and New York Yankees fan and enjoyed cheering them on. She loved collecting Hummels from Germany, as well as figurines and pictures of foxes and owls. She was exceptionally witty and sharp, and was immensely loving. Ann will be missed dearly by all who knew her.Ann is survived by her children, Tanya Walker, and Thomas (Amy) Walker, Jr., her grandchildren, Kyle Walker, Caitlin Walker, and Allison Walker, and many close friends at Gurnee Meadows.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Walker, Sr., and her brothers, Leroy Harwell, and JT Harwell.Burial will be Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
