OBITUARY

Arthur Larry Wohlgemuth Jr.

November 15, 1962 – July 7, 2026
Obituary of Arthur Larry Wohlgemuth Jr.
IN THE CARE OF

Glueckert Funeral Home

Arthur Larry Wohlgemuth Jr., 63, of Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026.

Larry was born on November 15, 1962, in Park Ridge, Illinois, son to Judith Helen Wohlgemuth (Judith Helen Becker) and Arthur Larry Wohlgemuth Sr.

For more than 40 years, Larry was the proud owner and operator of Lamar Trucking, logging over four million safe miles across America’s highways. Known on the CB radio as “Big Boy from Illinois,” he was a familiar and respected voice among fellow drivers. His semi-truck was more than a vehicle—it was his second home and a reflection of his passion for the open road. Throughout his career, Larry traveled extensively across the United States, always making a point to visit family members wherever they lived.

While trucking was his livelihood and passion, Larry’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He cherished the relationships he built throughout his life and will be remembered for his dedication, hard work, and love for those closest to him.

Larry is survived by his children, Brian Gardner (Wohlgemuth) , Christine Marker, Eric Wohlgemuth, Joey Wohlgemuth and Emily Wohlgemuth; his seven grandchildren; his sister, Sharon Gardner; and his niece, Shannon Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Judith Helen Wohlgemuth and Arthur Wohlgemuth Sr.

Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. www.stroke.org
